Belconnen Arts Centre is home to Creative Program Officers who promote and facilitate active participation in the arts for ACT communities. The Officers connect individuals and communities with artists and arts organisations and aim to approach and inspire members of the community to be actively engaged in the arts.
A main objective of the CACD Program is to enhance and deliver outreach programs and arts activities with strong community engagement. The Officers provide support, information and a connection point to people within the community, with a specific focus on working with people with diverse backgrounds and abilities, in their artistic and cultural development.
As a result of engaging with communities the Officers facilitate quality artistic outcomes including events, exhibitions, festivals and workshops. The annual program of events is diverse and offers something for everyone including visual arts, dance and music programs as well as the annual Inclusion Day festival held as part of International Day of People with a Disability.
