Our information and education workshops are held monthly in Woolgoolga and focus on a wide variety of health and lifestyle issues that may be of importance to you and your family members. Professional guest speakers at each workshop provide education and information on topics including:
Medical and health issues – hearing tests, dementia awareness, stroke prevention and information about other chronic health conditions, falls prevention, information about accessing local health professionals and specialist health teams, managing medications and general nutrition and exercise topics;
Legal/lifestyle issues – developing wills, power of attorney and enduring guardianship arrangements, probate and advance healthcare directives;
Government/financial issues – government agency changes that may impact on government payments, aged and disability care reforms, assets and interest issues;
General topics – dealing with scams and tradesmen and natural disasters including floods and fire;
Transport is provided to and from each workshop and includes lunch and time to socialise after each speaker. All workshops cater to the cultural needs of Punjabi people, with translation assistance by a professional interpreter at each event. We are also open for new ideas for topics that may be of interest to you, and are happy to arrange on your behalf.
